Politics
Danau is torn apart by several separatist movements. There is one main region that is striving for independence. The Conservatives, which mainly consist of the so-called original inhabitants, are feeling threatened by the new inhabitants that mainly consist of foreign ethnicities.
Danau is a constitutional monarchy, led by king khajit VII ( means Buddha king ). He is more of a formal king and religious leader because he hasn’t much political power. The real political power lays within the parliament, which is elected every 6 years. But these elections always are very predictable and the rich Conservatives get almost all the seats in the parliament due to the system of plural voting based on income and property (rich people have more votes). All politics are controlled in the capital, Balanka.
This kind of democracy leads to much discord among other classes. On one hand there is the SDP, which stands for Social Danaui Party. This officially recognised party stands for equal rights for all citizens in Danau and wants to fight for a single voting system, whereby the “new” citizens have more political power.
On the other hand there is the SKM, wich stands for Separatist Kimara Movement. This movement has no political power and consists mostly of foreigners who strife for an independent region without Buddhist control. The current name of that region is Kimara, it is a very poor region located in the south of Danau.
